Home Sweet Home
Well, it has been some time since I checked in, and let me tell you, there is a lot to tell. First off, Coreena and I took last week off from work for a poor man's vacation. We went to her parents house the weekend before our week off and also walked through some open houses in Winona. On Monday we drove up to the cities and went to the Mall of America. It was a pretty good time. The best part was sitting in the massage chairs in a couple of the stores. We stayed at a hotel that night (Park Inn & Suites, I don't recommend it) but the crappy hotel didn't have a pool so we just drank wine and watched tv. On Tuesday we went to the Minnesota Zoo. That was enjoyable. It must have been field trip day cause it seemed overrun by elementary kids. I love animals, so I always enjoy going to zoos. On Wednesday I bought a house. We didn't do much of anything during the day Thursday, but that night we went to Comedy Express at the Starlite Lounge in LaCrosse. The opener was a girl from Last Comic Standing. She was ok. The headliner was a magician. He was mediocre. It was a good time, though. Coreena quit her job on Friday. On Saturday we went to some garage sales (I bought a washer, dryer, and lawnmower), and Sunday we spent at my parent's house.
"Hold on now!! Back that ass up. You bought a house?!?!?", you say. You heard correctly. You are looking at the blog of a new home owner (hopefully). I made an offer they couldn't refuse on a house here in Winona. It's a cute little 3 bedroom, 1 bath house about 5 or 6 block west of campus. I am a little overwhelmed because everything seems to be happening so fast with it. The closing date is May 27th, which is nice because Phil and I hadn't got an apartment lined up for June yet. It looks like Phil and Coreena (who just recently got a job at Fastenal) will be moving in as "renters." That will definitely help with the mortgage payments. Well I'll keep you posted and hopefully I'll get around to putting some pics up sometime soon. I've got a bunch on the phone, but with all the stress from the house purchase requirements, I'd rather just lay around. Later.
