Rock n Roll

I bought a guitar this weekend through eBay. It is an ebony Gibson Epiphone Les Paul Standard. It just shipped today, so I'm pretty excited for it to show up. It is used (2002) and supposedly has one small ding on it (which is why I only paid $270 for it). That shouldn't affect the playability or sound, though, so I'm not too worried about that. I just hope there is nothing else wrong with it. Only time will tell, I guess.

As for this past weekend, it was pretty lazy and relaxing... just what I needed. I ended up calling in sick to work on Friday, so I slept in and just layed around until going to Lax to hang out with Coreena. We played Scrabble and watched Young Frankenstein. I spent the rest of the weekend playing Half-Life 2, watching Stepford Wives and Van Helsing, and watching 1st season episodes of Alias (I'm borrowing the DVD's from Coreena). It's been a while since I had a weekend of nothing (I actually never changed out of my pj's on Sunday).

Before I go, I wanted to apologize for not posting to Photogasmic in a while. My Thanksgiving Resolution is to post more pics to it... probably starting with my new guitar. :)

Until next time...

Sick for the Cure / Red, Red Wine

Well, I've been sick (cold, I think) for the last week and a half. It sucks. Lots of caughing and lots of headaches, for some reason. Because of my sicklihoodness, I'm gonna keep this post short.

This past tuesday, Half-Life 2 was released. The game is absolutely amazing. I almost spend more time playing with the amazing physics than shooting people. If you can, get this game!

On Wednesday night, Coreena and I went to the Wine Tasting benefit for the Humane Society. It was a lot of fun. I hadn't really drank much wine before, but I was able to find a few that I like. Reislings, Asti's, and Pinot's are good. Chardonnay's and anything Red is bad. That is what I learned.

Sorry Everybody

I wonder if people of this country realize what the rest of the world thinks of the election results. In short, most of the world is unhappy. So to the rest of the world... Sorry Everybody. :( I guess I should have done more.

Speaking of incredible things...

Coreena and I saw The Incredibles this weekend. The movie certainly lives up to its name. Unfortunately we had to run immediately after the movie so we didn't stay for the credits (assuming they had some good clips during the credits). But this is a movie I will definitely buy, so I'll be able to catch them then.

Speaking of buying things... I think I'm gonna buy a new electric guitar. I'm looking for a good deal on an Epiphone Les Paul Standard on eBay. There's a few of them out there that I'm watching. Hopefully I'll get lucky and be able to get one for less than $400. I also pre-ordered the computer game Half-Life 2 last night on a whim. It looks like it will be an awesome game. Hopefully my computer will be efficient enough to play it. It should be. The game comes out on the 16th, FYI.

Speaking of release dates... There are a couple other release dates I'm pumped for. On the 19th, the Spongebob Squarepants movie comes out!!! I can't wait. And then, on the 23rd, the first 3 seasons of Seinfeld will be released. I think I'm gonna have to ask for those for X-mas cause I don't really have any other ideas for gifts for me. I guess I waited this long, so another month won't kill me.

Speaking of waiting... I'm sure you've waited long enough for this email to finish, so without further ado... Goodbye.

Goodbye Cruel World

It is with a saddened heart that I must inform you all I am leaving you. I've had more than I can handle and feel there is only one way to escape it... that's right, I'm moving to Great Britain or Canada. I've given up on this country, what with Kerry losing to Bush (I'm calling it despite the news channels holding off) and Republicans controlling both the House and the Senate. And to top it all off, at least 10 states have voted to amend their constitutions to ban gay marriage. It makes me physically sick to think about it all. So instead of putting up with 4 more years of heading in the wrong direction, I've decided to go somewhere brighter. Somewhere not driven by fear. Perhaps one day this country will turn a corner and I'll be able to come back again, but until then, Goodbye.

P.S. Travel companions are welcome.
